World Class Story
In 1977, Rob Brown, the President and Founder of Travel Turf, Inc. dba World Class Vacations, was a senior in college and decided to go on a Spring Trip to Florida. Rob was planning on a career in hotel management, but his experience on his trip in March of 1977 was a life changing one. The trip he had booked and paid for with money saved while working part-time in college was a disaster. One problem after another. After receiving no assistance from the travel company handling the trip and discovering that many students were being treated just as he was, because of their age, Rob made a commitment to himself to start a travel company that treats students with the respect they deserve.

Rob understood that he could not do it alone, so he asked three of his most talented college friends, who were in the teaching profession, to join him. They were, Bruce Bevan, VP of Sales & Marketing; Christopher Higgins, VP of Operations; and Terry E. Cole, VP of Special Markets. Joining Rob and his college friends is a very talented executive team, which includes Charlene Sulzer, Executive VP & Treasurer; Nancy O'Keefe, VP of Orlando Program, the company's largest program; Lisa Follweiler, Executive Administrative Assistant; Denise Pattison, Senior Administrative Assistant; Carolyn Plunkett, Retail Sales Manager; Maryrose Anderson, Finance Manager; Joleene Evangelist, Operations Manager; Kelli Holzman, Financial Analyst; John VanDyke, Financial Administrator; Danielle Yoder, Sales Manager; Arielle Burger, Product Development Manager and Mark Higgins, Orlando Operations Representative. Many of these team members have been with the company since the beginning. Mary Ann Kelley joined the team as Director of our fastest growing program "Dance The World", which is hosted at the Walt Disney World Resort each June and July. The success of the Dance The World Event spawned the creation of two new events . . . Cook Around The World (hosted by Walt Disney World® Resort) and Sing The World (hosted at the Walt Disney World® Resort). Matt Schaeffer was appointed Director of Events to oversee these Exclusive Programs!

The company Rob started back then has since grown into one of the largest Student Travel Companies in the country and one of Disney and Universal's Top Five Student Travel Planners. Rob has never forgotten what happened back in 1977 and World Class Vacations has provided literally thousands of high schools with memorable school sponsored Class Trips and Music Department Trips, as well as Dance School Trips.
